Project Question - How accurately can we predict court judgements in Ghanaian courts?
We started with a database of 800+ judgments by 2,000+ judges in Ghana's 4th republic. Using Rubik, a Laravel-powered ML library, we integrated with Ghana Law Co.’s existing law query system. After refining the data and testing multiple models, we built what is now one of Ghana’s largest open-source case law repositories — and along the way, we created a judgment predictor that's more than just a nice-to-have. It's the future of legal research in Africa.

What? Using the open source Rubik Machine Learning Library and a proprietary tool, we trained our model on a database of approximately 800 (and counting) well recorded cases and judgements in Ghana.
Why? This forms the basis for predicting potential outcomes of pending judgments by leveraging historical data from similar cases. It serves as a valuable supplementary tool for lawyers while offering an engaging experience for observers.
